A Lull in the Shop: Sparkly and Rainbowy

I'll be closed the next couple of weeks to visit family and take some time to work on some art projects. It's easy to let months slip by in my daily routine and not even remember what I did so sometimes I find it good to slow down. This winter I'm trying to do that and it's hard because I hate to have the closed sign up if a customer stops by. The well trained American Puritan in me feels the guilt of not working NONSTOP.

It's Holiday Time?! Happy Thanksgiving!

What?! It's mid November? Holidays are upon us! So I am madly working away in the shop to bump up my inventory and bust out custom orders. It's always a busy time for me but I know that I get a rest in January. I recently pulled out some gorgeous chalcedony beads that I recently purchased from a gem dealer and began a small grouping of holiday party drop earrings (see below).

Here Comes Summer!

May 27, 2014

Summer is fast approaching. Life in Pinedale, Wyoming goes from winter to summer in an instant, it was snowing 2 weeks ago and now it's in the 70's, the grass is getting green and already needs to be cut. Our corner of the USA is heaven on Earth in the summertime, wilderness and wildlife abound and the sky is huge and blue.

Happy Holidays!

The jewelry store is packed with jewelry and artwork. Each year this time I like to have a large amount of jewelry for people to choose from. I tend to experiment with colors and shapes and gemstones so I find that there is a good variety of thoughts going on.

I just hung up 18 calligraphy paintings by a local artist Charmian McLellan on Monday. We'll be having a reception for her on Saturday 5-8, Dec. 14, 2013.

Hope everyone has a wonderful season and good winter and happy new year!

New Gemstone Earrings

Written October 24, 2013

I recently purchased a pile of beautiful gemstones. Last week I hosted a Ladies Night at my store and revealed dozens of new earrings. Each pair is different and the gems are transparent and sparkly, crystaly and colorful. I will post a few on this site but in the meantime here is a quick photo:

Best of WY! art exhibit

Written June 18, 2013

I just got accepted to a juried art exhibit, "Best of WY!", that will be hanging in Jackson Hole, June 28-Aug 2, 2013, at the Center for the Arts in the main gallery of the building. I will be submitting a silver and amethyst bracelet and a group of four lockets:

Mother's Jewelry

Written April 30, 2013

I've had a lot of women request mother's jewelry over the years and I've been happy to oblige. One of the most popular are these silver medallions that I add their children's names and make each one different with various dots, lines, stars, etc.

And it still is snowing...

Written April 22, 2013

So, living in Wyoming means about 8 months of winter. The snow is coming down heavily today, April 22.  But after living here over a decade I'm finally used to it.  Anyway to get through this time of year I often do indoor projects, this weekend I decided to devote my craft skills to making a new skirt. (those are my gas tanks for soldering in the background).

Happy New Year!

Written January 5, 2013

I have taken a small break from the jewelry making to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with my family and friends.  However I am back in town and will be diving right back into the jewelry bench.  Right before I left for the holiays I made a beautiful turquoise bracelet with 6 strands of Nevada mined turquoise with a sterling silver clasp that I recently designed.  I will be offering more bracelets with this clasp with various gemstones.
